Historical background reading
Write a diary entry from the perspective of your roles to get into character for the role play. How do you see yourself and the allegations against you, other groups, feelings about the famine, hopes, fears, concerns, etc. For example, a landlord might write that they only tried to live a noble life, helping to better their country’s economy, etc.
You will share in groups and with the class so that everyone hears the perspectives of all 5 roles.

Homework- step out of your role and review the HISTORY, not the role play
Write a short essay, arguing for the degree of responsibility of each group. Give a percentage of the responsibility for causing the starvation and suffering and SUPPORT with historical evidence/details.
